I suppose I should offer up a bit about myself: I am a graduate of UMass Amherst with a Batchelor's degree in Plant and Soil Science with a concentration in Sustainable Food and Farming. My love of food goes back as far as I can remember. Working in many kitchens allowed me to begin to understand the power that comes from real, fresh ingredients; the very best of which come from the healthy soils of functional small farms. My passion for this type of intentional design drew me to Sirius Ecovillage to get my Permaculture Design Certificate in 2009. That led to my involvement in the UMass Permaculture project. After graduating, I spent 4 years creating and maintaining a 2 acre garden from grass lawn in Stamford, CT. During my time there, I learned an awful lot. I obtained my Permaculture Teacher Training Certificate from Dave Jacke, I got to actualize one of my own designs, I got to work with some extremely talented chefs, and I attended many classes and conferences both as a student and as a teacher. Now, this new venture at Crystal Spring Farm is my attempt to fully immerse myself in my work. Living and working on site and running my own farm business has really been my dream. I get to work intimately with the quality ingredients that I’ve come to love and can now share with my friends and neighbors. The community here is more than I could ever ask for and I truly feel like I have finally come home. I hope you'll stay connected and join me as we see what unfolds.
